First Lego League

Grades 4-8

Join us for an exciting journey into the world of competitive robotics with our FLL Robotics Team! Designed for students in grades 4-8, students will design, build, and program a LEGO robot to complete a variety of tasks head to head against other area teams.

The team of 10 students must also present the iterations of their robot design and solutions to a real-world problem based on the theme of the game.  In pursuit of solutions to a real-world problem for their innovation project, students will connect with industry professionals.

As students age out of FIRST Lego League, their journey can continue up the FIRST progression of programs with FIRST Tech Challenge for grades 7-12. Through their entire FIRST journey your student will gain skills in collaboration, critical-thinking, problem-solving, and public speaking in addition to creating life-long connections personally and professionally.

First Tech Challenge

Grades 7-12

FIRST Tech Challenge is a worldwide competitive youth robotics program where students in grades 7-12 design, build and program a robot from scratch for a collaborative competition of 2 vs 2 robots on a 12 foot square field. Students not only advance their technical skills, but must also communicate the iterations of their robot design and STEAM awareness community outreach to the judges.

The team of 15 will also get the opportunity to speak to industry professionals in pursuit of advancing their skills as the next generation of problem solvers.

As students age out of FIRST Tech Challenge, they become eligible for over $90 million in scholarships facilitated by FIRST robotics annually. Going into adulthood, students will carry the skills of problem-solving, collaboration, critical-thinking and public speaking in addition to creating life-long connections both personally and professionally.
